Jan Press is a third generation photographer. The family studio was founded in 1907 by his grandfather Gustav Wittmayer, followed by his mother Vivian, who successfully operated on the Lower East Side of Manhattan for over 70 years. In 1971 Jan continued the legacy by opening his own studio in Livingston's downtown business district.

For over 40 years, Jan’s brand has become synonymous with creating iconic images that transform into treasured family heirlooms, enjoyed by generations to come. The Jan Press team has been a recognized neighborhood institution, capturing weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, family portraits, professional headshots and video production.

With incorporating time-honored technique, Jan and his hand-picked team pride themselves on creating an unobtrusive atmosphere, being sensitive to the emotion of the day. The team is well versed in all of the nuances that make an event successful, balancing fine artistry with efficiency in a seamless fashion.
