Every mattress they sell is made locally, right here in northern New Jersey, from natural and sustainably sourced materials. In addition to being toxin-free, the mattresses feature exceptionally high-quality construction. Beds are made by Shifman, a manufacturer of two-sided luxury mattresses that are handmade in Newark, and also the Natural Dreams brand, a competitively priced line of Greenguard certified mattresses made in North Brunswick that Umiker says is comparable to brands like Avocado and Naturepedic.
Additionally, The Ethical Mattress Company will take your old mattress away for no charge, and unlike other retailers, they'll make sure it gets recycled instead of dumped into a landfill. And Umiker says they offer their customers Everyday-Low prices, which he says are up to 50% lower than the prices for comparable products found in departments stores and other mattress retailers.
The Ethical Mattress Company is located at 387 Millburn Avenue and is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 to 6pm, Sundays from 12 to 5pm, and also on President's Day Monday from 10-5pm.
